Learning new things

Highlights of this week:

Elsie stands herself up.  Until now she would stand and play with toys as long as you helped her up.  This week she decided to take the plunge into independence and stand on her own.  She is fervently practicing this new skill.  She also added holding her own bottle (when she wants to) and putting her own binkie in her mouth.  You go girl!

Danny is ready to climb Mt. Washington.  The kid climbs everything and he is completely fearless about it.  He climbs the end tables, the couch, the dogs, the kitchen table chairs, Miguel and I, his brother and sister, the shelves, the gate, you name it, he's climbed it.  He's getting extra fancy holding on with only one hand while he stands, sometimes no hands briefly.  On that note, he is falling down a lot and smacking his noggin on everything.  It doesn't seem to bother him, he just rubs some dirt on it and gets back in the game.

Sammy is high kneeling.  He seriously thought about trying to stand tonight, I took a video hoping I would catch it for the first time, but he settled with just bouncing a little in his kneel.  To climb over things, he now grabs on, kneels, and then straightens his legs to propel him forward as he dives forward.  It definitely looks as dangerous as it sounds.  I'm not even trying to get it on a video.  Sammy is still the only one feeding himself, and is now up to a personal record of shoving 6 cheerios into his mouth simultaneously.  He chokes a little, coughs it out, then smiles.  This kid is so happy it's crazy.

Tooth count:  Sammy 4.  Elsie 2.  Danny 2.

We had our first poopy tub the other night.  Miss Elsie was the culprit.  Nothing like 3 kids in poopy water.  But she felt better since she has been a little backed up.  Glad the warm water helped you out girl.

We have been trying to spend as much time outside before the cold weather hits.  We enjoyed Lana and Joey's party last weekend, and we walked at Buttonwood park today to support Junior Diabetes.  Babies love walks.  And they are good for Mommy too!

Last thing I am happy to report is the kids are starting to really interact with each other.  For a while they would play independently with not a lot of interest in group play.  Lately they have been talking to each other in their own little language and laughing and touching each other a lot.  Sammy and Danny were holding hands the other day, and Elsie likes to paw at both her brothers, sometimes nicely and sometimes not so nicely.  She has earned a new knickname 'Wreck It Ralph' because she plows through both of them or anything that stands in her way to where she wants to go.

Made the babies some sweaters for this winter.  Love the wood buttons!

Sammy
I made this sweater for Riley 6 years ago.  Glad we could recycle it to my babies!
He looks like an old man in this hat.
So this is my box.  No one else can play with it or touch it.
Mine.  You got it?
What do you mean you are going to take it away?

Danny
Playing with Sandy
So Sammy was laughing when Danny climbed on him and to try to hop the gate.
Until he realized he didn't like Danny standing on his stomach.
loves the tub

Elsie
sitting indian style
I think leaning over the bar and rocking back and forth is way more fun than sitting in the swing!
seriously.  where does she come up with this stuff.
She loves her Daddy
Love this outfit.  Jean skirt, tights and the pink boots.  Seriously cute.
