11 WEEKS!

I know I say it every week but wow.  11 weeks.

Great progress being made on breathing assistance.  Sammy and Danny are both in high flo 2 and only requiring 21-25% oxygen. That's nothing.  Room air oxygen is 21%, 25% is like room air in a house with lots of house plants :)  And rockstar Elsie Mae is in regular nose cannula 1 liter flo at room air.  AMAZING.

Had another round of eye exams.  Danny and Elsie looking good, still premature eyes but growing in the right direction.  They will get another check in 2 weeks.  Sammy had some blood vessels that looked 'angry' (not sure what angry blood vessels look like but I'll try to envision), so they are going to repeat his next week.  Doctor said she is not worried yet, but would like to stay ahead of any problems if they do arise.

Chub report:  Largest pork chop right now is Sammy at 5 lbs 6 oz.  Elsie weighing in at 5 lbs 2 oz.  Danny at 4 lbs 15 oz.

In the words of Nurse Barbara, 'everything is freaking fantastic!'  We love to hear that :)

A lot of sleeping baby pics this post because when they are awake and active I'm using that opportunity to practice breastfeeding.  I will try to get more eye-open showing personality pics this week :)

  1. I hope the breastfeeding is going smoothly and the angels are catching on--it's such a great bonding activity! I'm guessing you've got, what, another month or so to go before they start sending the babes home? Time flies! Zoe was 9 months old last week, and I can't believe it. I swear it was yesterday when she was 6 weeks old and I met you out for lunch after having her hand and footprints done!
