6 Months!

Holy moly! 6 months already!

Their corrected age is now 10 weeks so we are reaching and grabbing things that are close to us, smiling and laughing, as well as lots of cooing.  Also moving our heads to follow people and sounds instead of just tracking with our eyes.  The Early Intervention team is very happy we are progressing like normal term infants would.

Feeds are getting a little easier. Danny's reflux has lessened and now he just does a bunch of little spits after each meal, which are manageable with bib changes instead of full outfit changes (for him, and me, and wash the carpet, and the couch, etc).  Elsie is still the latter and you must prepare yourself with an array of clean up items before you sit down to feed her. No seriously,  it's like wearing a hazmat suit... I don't understand how she can drink 3 ounces but launch 57 back out across the room at you.  Sammy continues his stellar run of eat an entire bottle, burp once, and fall asleep. That kid could wear the same outfit 5 days in a row and it would still be clean.

This week we visited Miguel's parents down the cape, and the Rebello's in Berkley. The babies enjoy the car, and are calm and comfortable out in public thankfully.  I'm hoping they follow the same model as training a dog in the sense that early socialization will lead to good behavior :)

We had our 6 month checkup today. All the babies are weighing in at 11 pounds and change.

Pictures are grouped by baby, Sammy, Elsie,  then Danny.  I put the group pictures first and videos last.

I'm trying to stay awake to finish eating, I really am.

I'm gonna cry

I will, I mean it.

Look Ma, real tears and a sad face

Don't you just feel awful for me

Happy St. Patrick's Day

The days just fly by with feeding,  burping,  and diaper changes :)

My hope is to update the blog weekly now, as there is not as much medical info to update.  It will also be chock full of pics and those silly video clips that all new parents are thrilled to watch.  I try to keep the videos short for the most part for all of you not as goo goo gaa gaa about watching my kiddos coo and smile at the camera :)  The blog acts as a 'scrapbook' of sorts, so I want to include as much as I can.

This week we did more heading out into the real world.  We visited Auntie Cathy in West Roxbury and went to the Carter's and out to lunch at Panera.  We also went to Kohl's with our cousin Betty and then off to lunch at Sweet Ginger with Auntie Betty, Auntie Jackie, and cousins Betty and Dean.  Mommy is very excited that we are happy go lucky babies that behave in public.  It feels awesome getting out of the house and I hope to make regular plans to do so once or twice a week with them.

We had a wonderful St. Patty's Day.  We got dressed up in our new outfits and took some pictures and a little video.

This week we are doing a lot of cooing and smiling and following people and voices around the room.  We like reaching for toys and seeing ourselves in the mirror.  Danny is also perfecting his fine motor skills of putting his binkie back in his mouth when it falls out.  Sammy has gained the nickname Happy Feet because he is constantly moving his legs and feet kicking off socks and blankets.   We also slept from 9-5 am last night!  Mommy was so happy :)
