They are settled in to 1 nap a day, and it runs from 1:30 - 4ish, which is nice. They play hard all morning, nap well, then get up and play hard till bedtime. They are so energetic when they play that they are crashing at nap time. Lay them down and 10 minutes later everyone is out for the count.
We've got a few new words, Elsie opened the bread drawer in the kitchen last week and yelled 'bed!' with great excitement. She also is saying binkie. I had been slowly weaning the binkie, but we've had a regression this past week and a half. Kids are getting their 2 year molars. and they are really suffering, so she started asking for her binkie during the day. So be it. We'll start weaning again when the teeth come in. They all have a clear 'more' now and use it often. Danny makes a strong P sound when he needs help, so now I'm trying to emphasize the 'hel' part for him to put it together. Elsie said dog a few times this week, Sammy is still just conversing away in total jibberish, although today he did say 'ball all done' when he broke open a hacky sack into a million pieces.
We've been living the summer dream, visiting with friends, playing at the park, swimming and going for walks. We hung out with Derrick, Deb, Emma, and Ethan by the pool. Danny showed off his new swimming skills. He can swim on his own with a bubble now! This is so exciting! I have a great video below. We had some family over for a cookout on our new deck, and the kids had a blast playing with their cousins. They love playing on the deck and enjoying the shade during these hot, humid days. We also went to a party where there was a DJ. I have never seen the babies so excited. Danny was dancing like a rock star, and Elsie got out there on the dance floor with the other kids, and Sammy explored the place while bopping his head to the music. We went to the summer concert in Dartmouth this week, and the kids played on the playground and we had some ice cream while listening to the band. What a great time. We wrapped up the week with a great visit with the Rego family...swimming, playing in the dirt, dancing, and then some playtime with the Vargo clan. Those babies know how to party!
Last week we had our 2 year photos done. Triplets are hard to pin down but Caryn does a great job! I've posted them below.
Looking forward to Story Land next week!
