14 months!

The months just fly by!  They are turning into little boys and a girl right in front of me.  I now have toddlers instead of babies.  Sigh.  But with every stage brings new and exciting things.  Here are a few updates.

Feeding...Elsie is finally feeding herself.  Her Diva status just dropped a few notches as now the princess dirties her own hands during mealtimes.  Which is much nicer than the screaming and holding her mouth open until you shoved some food in it.  Her and Sammy prefer the pincher method of using two fingers and picking up one piece at a time, where Danny prefers the rake method which is grab handfuls and shove them all into his mouth at once.  Hey to each their own.  I still only give them 'non-messy' finger foods, and leave all the messy foods to feeding them with a spoon.

Walking...any day now.  Danny is taking a step here and a step there, but not what I would consider full out walking.  Elsie and Danny like to race on the walk behind toys and go back and forth from one end of the house to the other.  When they run into an obstacle they can't muscle over they scream loudly until assisted.  Sometimes Danny will just start walking backward or sideways with it.  Elsie flat out jogs with it, and wears a smirk with pride at her accomplishment.  Sammy has finally taken a liking to them and leisurely cruises across the room when he feels like it.

Talking...Elsie has had a clear 'mom' for a few months now, Danny says 'dada' and 'daddy' (especially when mommy isn't letting him do what he wants) and recently started with 'ya'.  Sammy says 'dada' and a lot of other syllables at different octaves and tones.  Elsie has really started picking up different sounds and I feel some words are imminent, which will be great because our current format of communication is scream, scream louder, scream louder than womb-mates, scream louder than Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween.

I recently started using my actual camera instead of my phone camera because I feel the kids are moving so quickly I am getting a lot of blurry shots.  Well the flash on my camera is pretty bright, so now I'm getting crystal clear shots of kids with their eyes closed.  Working on a happy medium.

Here are some pics and videos :)

so the other day, I was changing Sammy's diaper and turned around and couldn't find Elsie.  The room is gated so I wasn't worried, but I found her sitting quietly behind the couch.

clearly hoping to get the wires she knows she isn't supposed to touch

  1. I laughed so hard I snorted when I saw the picture of Sammy looking back at you on the monitor. I just love that kid xoxo. Elsie behind the couch is pretty funny too. It doesn't take long for these little ones to find trouble. They're the best child-proofers though--they'll show you exactly what needs blocking off/plugging up/covered in rubber. It would be easier to dress them in space suits, I think.
