Danny's surgery

I'll be honest I was very worried when they said last solids at 3:30 and last bottle at 5:30.  Danny is my biggest eater and never goes 4 full hours between feeds.  So I woke him at 3:30 and shoved as much oatmeal cereal with pears into him as I could, and Miguel gave him a bottle at 5:30.

When we got to Hasbro at 9:30, they were great about keeping things progressing continuously so he didn't have time to realize he was hungry.  By 10:10 they were walking him and I into the operating room.  They let me hold him and talk to him as they applied the gas mask to put him out.  He did great.

The surgical redo of his circumcision took an hour, and Dr. Caldamone came out to say it went great.  Then the second part of the surgery, a removal of a lipoma on his back was done by Dr. Wills and that also took about an hour.  He said it was a pretty large mass and they sent it off to the lab to be analyzed.  We should know in a few weeks.

He was in recovery by 1pm and we were able to hold him and feed him some pedialyte to make sure he could keep some fluids down.  He was excited to eat and was more excited to snuggle.  We were home by 3:30 and he had a good size bottle and got a 2 hour snuggle on the couch with me.  Doctors say 2 or 3 days of Motrin and Tylenol and he should be back to his frisky self.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts and well wishes today, they are greatly appreciated.  Hoping this is the last big hospital milestone we have to tackle.
