This fall got away from me, so the blog post will be a two-fer of October and November.
October we kicked off our newly 4 status at the annual Perham Street Soap Box Derby in West Roxbury. My aunt and uncle's neighborhood started this event 10 years ago and it just keeps growing. The kids had a blast racing the cars. The weather was absolutely beautiful and was a fun day had by all. Here are some pics.

Elsie and Danny ran into each other as Sam just cruised by both of them to win.
Love this. I asked them if they liked it, and they gave me a thumbs up. Except for Sammy who gave me a #1 since he won the race
Here's the race!
The rest of the month was filled with fun birthday parties. Jazzy turned 5 and I made her a Moana birthday carrot cake. We had lots of fun playing with the party props and decorating pumpkins!

We celebrated Elana's birthday at Escobar's corn maze and got to go on a hay ride as well as climb on big hay bales. Another gorgeous October day.
Our cousins Matteo and Luca came for a visit and we spent an afternoon at Alderbrook Farm and got our pumpkins for Halloween.
We also had a blast at Lana and Joey's Ninja Warrior birthday party. Kids loved playing on all the obstacles, and the headbands were a total win. They didn't want to take them off!

This was the first year kids were really into decorating, carving pumpkins, and trick or treating. We were superheroes. Samuel was IronMan, Daniel was Spider-Man, and Elsie was Wonder Woman. Our first trick or treat experience went pretty well. We met up with Tracey, John, Gianna, and Jazzy and walked a few streets in our neighborhood. Elsie was super excited that Gianna was also Wonder Woman. And Jazzy was Moana of course :)

November rolled in with the annual Izaah birthday bash. This year it was a Harry Potter theme, and it was amazing. The kids were dressed in robes with wands, they were picked for teams by the speaking sorting hat, did an herbology class, a potion class, and a spell class. What was really incredible about this party was Danny's attention span. This is a 9 year olds party, a lot of kids older than ours, tasks that take time, patience, attention, all of Danny's weaknesses. He usually has to touch everything, struggles to sit still, and he was completely engrossed at every stage. It was awesome to see.

Elsie finally got her Mommy and Me Macy's day. This started over the summer, anytime we drive in the car, the kids name letters in signs we pass. Well Macy's sign is big and we pass it often, so the kids say the letters. They also asked what that store is, and one day Elsie was like "I want to go there...but not with the boys mommy, just you and me" I don't know if she hasn't noticed but she's not an only child and so this wasn't an easy task. Every time we drove by Macy's for almost 2 months she would say the same thing. If anything, she is persistent. So one day she had a chiropractor appointment during a half day at school, so I brought the boys to school, we went to the 'tickle doctor' as Danny calls it, then to Macy's. Grammie joined us and she was beyond PUMPED to have a girls day. What was really touching was she cried a few times when we got to Macy's because 'I miss the boys. Can we just go by school so I can see them and give them a hug?' And then when we started shopping all she did was pick out things for the boys. 'oh mommy, Danny would love this spiderman hat and gloves, can we buy it for him?' Then she had to pick out a Batman hat and gloves for Sammy. My mom said 'It sounded good, but when push comes to shove, she really doesn't want to do things without them.' It was sweet and we had fun.
she picked her own outfit for this special day. Equipped with her Hello Kitty pocketbook of course
loving every minute
singing in the mirror
after we picked up the boys they all had a dentist appointment, and she was still smiling
We went to see Lana's soccer game and the kids had fun playing with everyone.

We got this years preschool pics, and another win for the photographer who took individuals and group shots.

November 17th is World Prematurity Day and Elsie celebrated by wearing purple, and we posed for some pics to show comparison from our first few days.
The top pics are left to right. Sammy at 3 days old, Elsie at 5 days old, and Danny at day 7
can't believe these kids were 24 weekers. how did we get so lucky?
The rest of the month wrapped up with some sickness. Kids had strep throat, then the croup. So our Thanksgiving was just my mom and us hanging out at our house so we didn't infect anyone. Kids are feeling better now, and we are thankful we escaped without a hospital stay this year. Here are the rest of the pics and videos from November.
when you're sick you play in boxes in the house!
another outfit picked out by Miss Elsie. Rocking the knee high Hello Kitty socks and Uggs with her dress. And you can't forget the Minnie Bow Mommy! Got it girl.
sick kids = extra napping
Sammy wanted to play outside with us, then 10 minutes later said he was going in, came in to find him passed out on the couch. Poor little guy.
This is our new favorite passtime. Playing on the stairs. Danny is making Scooby traps. He loves scooby doo and gathers string, household items and makes concoctions on the stairs all day.
love the smile!
Auntie Tracey came over and took some family pictures for our Christmas card.
Look at how tall they are!
Here are some videos from this month. You tube has decided to do away with the video editor, so in my free time this month I'm going to investigate some apps that will do this since many times I have multiple clips that need combining. So there are a few short videos here this month :)
R is for Rocket. This is Sam's favorite book. It's about a puppy named Rocket that learns the alphabet with his animal friends. Every page uses words with a new letter. Sam knows every word. My favorite is L. A ladybug lands on a leaf and listens to Rocket read a letter from Larry. The way they say Larry is hysterical. Waaaary. haha
we love the alphabet
some more swimming. sam is all about swimming underwater. Him and Elsie are almost no bubble. Danny still dislikes his eyes in the water but can swim without the bubble and make it across.
Kite flying part 1 Elsie picked it right up and was flying her own. Sam needed some help because he would stop running to turn around and look at it and it would fall. Danny was cold and not interested.
kite flying part 2
The kids love music. In the car every song that comes on they ask what the name of it is. They have favorites and one of them is Unforgettable by Thomas Rhett. Well to our surprise he did the halftime show on Thanksgiving and the kids were instantly playing their instruments and singing along.
of course we had to rewind and replay it several times so they could switch instruments and play different parts. :)
