Let Freedom Ring!

Let Freedom Ring!  We are on 'summer cation' as the kids are calling it.  The kids wrapped up their first year of preschool on June 16th. We did MWF mornings from 9-12 and it was a great intro into school learning and playing with others.  We will be returning to Smith Mills int he fall M-F.  The last month of school, they had a spring photos fundraiser with a photographer that was awesometastic, she took individuals and group photos of the kids.  I can't say enough how much I love them.

Miguel and I lay down with the babies each night for bed.  The new question of the day is 'is it my turn to snuggle you?'  With two parents and 3 children it's a valid question. So when it's Sammy's turn for Mommy snuggles, Elsie comes over and lays with us until Sammy falls asleep.  By this time, she is crashed out too and I can just move her to her own bed.  When it's Danny's turn he holds onto you like a thief.  There is no chance you are snuggling anyone else at the same time.  So the other night Elsie asked me to snuggle her when it was Danny's turn so I told her that I would come over to her bed after Danny fell asleep.  Well he fell asleep quickly so I went over to her bed, and just as she was fading off, I heard Danny in the softest whisper say 'Hey, who's snuggling me?' So genuine in his whisper (which we've been working on respecting others when they are sleeping).

Another great one liner from this month came from Sam who decided to pull down his pants and underwear and pee outside.  So I run over 'Sam, what are you doing?'  He says ' I'm watering the grass Mommy.'  So he pees for quite a while and says 'WOW this grass is thirsty!'  I can't.  There is something so pure and innocent about him.

love her smile!

all smiles on the yellow skid steer with Daddy.  He tells Miguel that it is an adult machine but he doesn't need any help, he can drive it himself.

My favorite pictures this month.  Laying on a blanket in the backyard enjoying summer!

loves her $3 target hat

The kids are all about music.  They love singing in the car,  and have favorite songs.  So Uptown Funk is a hit.  And Danny loves to walk around grooving, singing 'Uptown Funk you up, Uptown Funk you up...say what?'  So cute, except he is a 3 year old with not the best pronunciation skills. So when we are in public, I have to sing along and really emphasize the N in Funk.  :)

The kiddos love to play outside and therefore get lots of scrapes and bruises.  Danny told me in the sweetest, most pathetic voice the other day to 'be nice and gentle Mommy' while putting a band-aid on him.  His brother and sister have picked up the phrase and now for everything I'm asked to be nice and gentle...washing faces, brushing hair, changing their clothes.  Ay yi yi.

We went to the Touch-A-Truck at UMass Dartmouth.  Kids loved it!

The EMTs dressed them up

It was bright and sunny.  Hard to capture 3 smiles

My girl even made the paper!

This silly girl.  Nothing like a winter hat with her sundress

Bought this cool water slide.  Kids call it the new pool.

I told her if she was cold to go sit in the sun.  My bronze beauty.

Here are their pics from the first day of school...

and their last day of school....Sammy and Danny went from 2T to 3T and sizes 7 & 8 shoes to 9 & 10.  Elsie went from 18 month clothing to 3T and shoe size 5 to 8. WOW.

Because I made a carrot cake for Miguel's birthday in February, any birthday in the family, the kids assume we are making a carrot cake.  So I've been explaining that 1. Not everyone likes carrot cake, and they can have whatever kind of cake they want on their birthday.  and 2.  That we don't make every carrot birthday cake, that people's family make it for them.  So when we called to sing Happy Birthday to Auntie Cathy, the kids asked if Auntie Jimby (Uncle Jimmy) was gonna make Auntie's carrot cake.  Weeks later swimming at Auntie's pool, the kids were curious and asked Auntie Cathy if Auntie Jimby made her a cake.  Then at Gianna's birthday party they asked if Jasmine had made Gianna's carrot cake. They are very serious about cake these kids.

Happy 6th Birthday Gianna!

Danny is so upset that Jazzy is combining the lemonade with the ice tea

Every morning (basically every meal), Danny lists all the things he wants to eat.  His favorite breakfast is eggs and sausage and toast and butter and potatoes (hash browns) and muffin pizza with mushrooms and Portuguese meat (confuses that english muffins can be used in place of toast OR as little pizzas)
