We've been trying to spend a lot of time outside, going for walks, visits to the park, cookouts, playing with our water table, and splashing in our kiddie pool. Corralling three toddlers though is super challenging to say the least. Daddy has been working on redoing the deck with David so we have a fun place to play outside that is closed in. The other day we went to the playground at Buttonwood and Danny turned in one direction and off he went. I waited to see how long it would be before he looked back. Good thing I didn't hold my breath, because he never did. He was easily 75 yards away before I started jogging to catch up. Luckily, Sammy and Elsie are a little more cautious and only go 50 feet before checking back for me. The great news is Mommy's waistline keeps shrinking now that I've started walking/running a half marathon per day chasing after them!
Words are starting to sound a little clearer as well, and they are trying new words everyday. They love books, and often take a book and go sit and talk to themselves as they flip through. Sammy said book this week, and magic. Danny said done, no (considering it is the word said to him most often), and he is working on help. I've heard him get some of it out a few times this week, but he is struggling with the 'lp' sound at the end. Elsie is saying 'more' much clearer now, but still prefers pointing and screaming at items she desires.
Climbing, exploring, figuring things out are some other favorite activities. I'm starting a new segment in the blog called 'I left the room for a second...' There are some good photos below of what they can accomplish while I wash my hands, or fill a sippy cup, or let the dogs in, etc. On a related note, we have lots of bumps and bruises. Sammy got a black eye after stunting on the motorcycle. Danny walked straight into a table thinking he was going to clear it and got a good dinger on his eyelid. Ay yi yi. They are getting more coordinated, so hopefully this stage will pass soon.
We are making good progress at swim class. The last few weeks Sammy has been going hands free and holding himself above with just the bubble. Danny did for a few seconds this week. Elsie not interested in letting go yet. We also have a new ball, and the kids love to throw and kick it. It is great seeing them figure out how to do this and watching them laugh as the ball moves across the room. Now I just have to teach them that hard plastic toys are not balls and should not be thrown or kicked across the room. Sigh.
Lastly, it's been a good run for 2 naps, but we are transitioning into 1 nap a day. I can't complain as we sleep 8-8 at night and nap well during the day, they are just not needing 2 long naps to sustain. It's been a little rough as they were napping 10:30 - 12 and 3-5 and with the 1 nap have only been sleeping 2 hours so far. I think that is what their bodies are conditioned to, so hoping to stretch it to 2.5 or 3 hours for the nap. Wish me luck.
Our new see-saw toy
I think Sammy likes it
playing out in the yard
drinking bottles before bed
craft time in our triplet table
yep. this is pretty much how it went.
I left the room for a second... notice Elsie sitting on the end table on the wrong side of the fence
love Danny's face here
I left the room for a second....eating crayons edition
I left the room for a second...climb on the sofa, destroy the blinds, and somebody had to balance on the arm rest to reach those books that were on top of the piano.
oh that would be Sammy who did
practicing selfies
love the hair
rock it girl
the baton was a huge hit at the party
so Sammy has stopped taking Danny's S#%@! He now tackles and grabs and screams and hits and bites.

just lounging watching a movie

I love the dance video! Pitch Perfect is such a great movie--we could watch it 24 hours a day :-) Hannah's last day of school is tomorrow, so we'll be free for visits very soon!
