Today is our official due date! The team of doctors, nurses, therapists gave us a singing card in celebration of reaching this big milestone, it put a huge smile on my face...I even danced a little :)
Now that Danny ditched his cannula, all 3 babies have clean faces with no tubes! It's great to see what our babies actually look like, since they have had items taped to their faces since birth.
I was so excited I told Barbara that I wanted to get a picture of all the babies together. This is not an easy task. And although I thought we were not successful at first, when I looked back on the array, there really are some funny shots. Barbara left for a well deserved vacation this week, and she won't be back before we go home. I won't lie, I cried all the way home on her last day. Our nurses have become our family, it is hard to imagine life without them.
Since Elsie has continued to have 1 or 2 spells a day, we are going for a swallow study this afternoon to try to pinpoint the origin of her reflux. This will help us decide on a course of action for treatment. This means Sammy has been bumped to the top spot for going home. They are transitioning him to the Neosure which is the going home supplement. Very exciting! I think we honestly still have 1-2 weeks. Sammy had no spell yesterday, but one today. It's back and forth.
Ok, here is our first try at a photo shoot. Danny was not happy because he hasn't pooped in a few days, Elsie was trying to eat Danny's arm because it was her care time, and Sammy doesn't have a care in the world...
Danny on his way to a meltdown, Elsie trying to eat him for a snack
And there is the meltdown
Oh hey, just hanging out while we wait for mommy to settle Danny

meltdown part 2
Almost there
That's better
We had a set of triplets visit us...Ethan, Jacob and Ana are 20yo!
Day 2 of the quest to get a triplet pic
Elsie: one hand on the hip, one smacking her brother in the head...
Love Sammy's smile
As the boys nap, Elsie thinks
Love these outfits
brotherly love
Daddy with Elsie
We propped her up on the boppy to sleep and it looks like she likes it
I love how those older triplets came for a visit! What a great idea! I love those give-back moments. It must have made you feel awesome to see 20 year old triplets :) I bet Barbara feels just as bad about being away when the kids start going home--your three will see her again, I'm sure xoxo
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear they are all doing so well. They are so cute and the boys really resemble each other! I know the feeling of hoping to get them home. They do great for three days and you think; "This is it!" and then a spell and your back to the start line...Hang in there!
