We've been working on planting in the backyard and getting ready to put up a fence. The kids are done with being trapped in the playground area, and are ready to ride their bikes, play chase, and kick the ball around the big yard. And Mommy's ready for the security of a fence.
One of the biggest highlights of the month are the kids are swimming with no bubbles! At swim lessons, Greg started taking off their bubbles and having them jump in and swim across to the other side. They are getting the hang of it, can't wait to see how much they improve this summer in the pool! Elsie made the biggest strides, going from afraid to jump in without holding her hand, to launching herself off the side with no bubble, and putting her eyes in and swimming to the side.
The other big achievement this month is potty training. Elsie has been trained for 18 months now, she picked it up quickly and never looked back. When Elsie became accident free, I started potty training Sammy. It was last year this month. It was December before I could send him to preschool with no pull up on, and until the last few weeks before he is mostly accident free. They say just ditch the diapers and the kids will train quicker. Not Sam. That boy could care less if pee is running down his leg or he's sitting in a chair with a big poop in his undies. It took 9 months of consistent routine before his light bulb came on. Danny was last for 2 reasons, he was petrified of the potty, and on Miralax which was hampering any potty training efforts. He came off Miralax in March and I waited till we were back from vacation to start. The first 2 weeks were brutal. Like 8 outfit changes a day horrible. Then I read somewhere that if they are over 3, you should just put the ball in their court, tell them to do it themselves. Well this was a winning statement. The next day I tried it, and BAM! he was peeing on the potty! And a week later he's pooping on the potty. Woo hoo! Yesterday was the first day in a year I haven't had underwear soaking in the sink. This is a turning point I can feel it.
The kids are really into singing right now. Every time we get in the car they ask for the radio (they used to only ask to watch Bubble Guppies on the DVD player). They love to learn words to songs and sing them over and over. This is a great stage. Fun to listen to them singing.
Danny is still into Spiderman everything. Wants to wear his Spiderman shirt everyday.

Kids had their first bus ride to a field trip at the fire station. I put up all the pictures because Danny's face is priceless. He was so sad I wasn't riding on the bus too.
